Treloar College
The contract was completed for The Treloar Trust, which provides education, care, therapy, medical support and independence training to young people with physical disabilities. We were appointed to extend and refurbish a large existing dormitory block and the works included all specialist fit out requirements.
The existing building was stripped to the shell, extensions were added and alterations made to create a 13-bedroom dormitory and a 5-bedroom flat. In addition, large lounge and dining areas with fully fitted kitchens, quiet areas and staff offices were constructed. Externally, we created a sensual garden with colour changing lights and a water feature.
Specialist items of equipment were fitted throughout such as a Maxi Sky hoist system, Clos-o-Mat toilets and a nurse call system to help promote independent living. Low maintenance, easy cleaning materials were installed. These included vinyl flooring, whiterock on walls and acrovyn on doors, linings, architraves and bump rails.
The completed dormitory provides the students of Treloar College with first-rate accommodation.
